Day 1

The flight took about 1 hr 15 min. Upon arrival, we were drawn by Thailand Tourist Agency. The person-in-charge was very friendly and helpful. We booked our hotel, Andaman Resotel Hotel, which is situated very near to the happening street in Patong, thru the agency. Good deal: THB 1000 per room (triple) per nite.

Airport meter-taxi to Patong Beach costs around THB 420. We had a late lunch at Jungceylon Food Court. Lunch costs around THB 160 for 3 people.

After lunch, we lepak at Jungceylon Shopping Mall. There's a newly opened Carrefour hypermarket. Goods sold in Carrefour Phuket have far more varieties than Carrefour M'sia. Wedding biscuits were sold there too! I was attracted by the Doraemon umbrellas.

There was some kind of competition going on in Phuket. Cheerleading guys and girls were practising on the beach. We strolled along the beach during sunset.

As Phuket was swept by Tsunami back in Dec 2004, the town was rebuilt. Everything is brand new now. There were lots of signboards guiding tourists to safety spots.

After dinner, we caught a 9 pm Ah K'ua Show at the Simon's Caberet. THB 500 per ticket, inclusive of van transfer to-and-fro the hotel. The transverstites performers are very beautiful, if they keep quiet. Once they speak... yuk!
