Bye-bye Hong Kong

Jan 3 2010, 10:20am. Little Lulu checked out and boarded the airport shuttle. While idling in the airport, something caught my attention.

Alone in HK

Jan 2 2010, 10:15am, hubby stepped inside the departure hall, leaving behind little Lulu. So, little Lulu took a public double-decker bus back to 太子 丽东酒店 (Newton Hotel). The bus ride only costs HKD 33. The airport shuttle costs HKD 80. Anyhow, I decided to take the airport shuttle to the airport the next day coz the airport shuttle picked you up at the hotel while the public bus-stop was somewhere around Portland Street.

Alone in the hotel room, doing nothing until my tummy growled. Then, had set-lunch at HKD 30. After lunch, took MTR to 尖沙咀.

星光大道

This reminds me of my primary school.
Lonely nite in the hotel room, alone. Not a nice feeling. Reminds me of those days when hotel room/apartment room is my "home". I'm looking forward to have a 家.

I like Newton Hotel. The location is good. My hotel room overlooks the greens of football fields and tennis courts with mountain as the backdrop.

送飞机

When I left Cincinnati airport for Penang in May 2009, I belanja hubby Starbucks. Now, hubby belanja latte.

2010 New Year

Jan 1 2010. Took MTR to Hong Kong island.

See the pocket-sized yellow cards both of us are holding? Tell you what, this is a new way monks seek donation. The robe-clad monk approached us, distributed the yellow card, asked us to put down names on a tiny booklet. A typical M'sian like Lulu 闪 when the monk asked us to write on the booklet. Hubby, as "ang-moh 直" as he is, put his name down. Lulu was still keeping her distance, 3 feet away. Then, on the last column, he has to fill in how much money he is gonna give. Then, hubby said, "Aw... man!". To mend the wok, Lulu forked out HKD 20. 求平安.

I've forgotten what did I say when I looked at the flags that day. Hubby said, "it's not your country". Well, 祖国=祖父的国. It's the country of my grandpa.
