Transportation system in Shanghai is very well planned. Needless to say, it's very convenient to move from one place to another, especially to the Shanghai Expo 2010.
We had our own sweet time today, waking up late, slowly savouring our hotel breakfast and leisurely commuting to the Expo. We reached the Expo at around 10:15am, no crowd at all at the entrance.

Once inside the Expo compound, we saw heads, heads and more heads. No wonder people say, 去上海看人头. I enjoyed seeing people enjoy lining up to enter the Arabian Pavilion.

I went spiralling up the Nepalian Pavilion. Nothing much to see inside. People were throwing coins at buddha statues.

Inside Algerian Pavilion.

Entering the Russian Pavillion is like entering Alice's Wonderland. It's full of big flowers.

This Russian set costs RMB 78. Ouch!

Danish Pavillion

I didn't enter the Danish Pavilion. So, I could just snap the back of the famous mermaid.

Highlight of the day would be the Finnish Pavilion. Upon entering the Pavilion, we felt a sense of calmness. It was as though we were entering a big white bowl and we're at the bottom of the bowl. Looking up into the Shanghai sky, you could just marvel at the contrast between the white funnel and the blue sky. Nothing else. Then, you followed the white spiralling path to go up and in the bowl. You were then greeted by blue-uniform-clad young Finnish girls with blue eyes. The backdrop showed our future homes, future cities, future transportation, all in different shades of blues. The background music was so soothing. There was no tune to the music, just ting-ting-tung-tung that rhymed with the blue bubbles on the backdrop. White white blue blue. A wave of calmness swept thru us. We're hypnotized. At the exit of the Pavilion, I saw many people buy merchandise items. That's the power of Finland, the land of Nokia.
