20100625 上海

Woked up at 6am, stepped out of the hotel at 6:30am, started queueing up at the gate at 7am, sandwiched between people, people and more people from 7am to 9am. When the gate opened at 9am, being pushed forward by the waves of people. After being screened and scanned thoroughly at the gate, to my dismay, reservation tickets for China and Taiwan pavilions were all given out.

I think China has too many manpower that a man is hired to carry the board.

Not a good day to visit the Shanghai Expo. It rained continuously for the whole day. Nevertheless, there were always amusement incidences that could spice up a gloomy day. As we were seeking a shelter from the rain, I looked at the map and said, "let's head for the 西门 as there's a toilet there." Then, as confident as I always am, I led the old folks team towards 西门. Papa Peh thought I was talking about "C 门" and he kept looking for "Gate C". Hah...hah... this reminds me of our another joke in the subway train. There was a subway station called 老西路. In English, it's written as Laoxi Road. To us, it's a Lousy Road.

Highlight of the day would be the Malaysian Pavilion. We entered thru the express lane by showing our passports. As we walked past those visitors lining up in a long queue, I sensed an air of jealousy. Instead of being proud to be a Malaysian, I bent my head low and hastened my footsteps. I felt embarrassed, sorry for them who had to queue up in the rain. We're all chinese, just that our nationalities differ.

M'sian Pavilion is not as bad as claimed in local Chinese newspaper.
To me, it's not a pasar malam, but a supermarket.

This part looks like KLIA.
