20100407 Genting Arena of Stars

I'm a big fans of Francis Yip. Made the last-minute decision. Bought RM 60 flat rate free-seating ticket. Got to be there early to get a feng-shui seat. The concert started at 8pm. I was there at 6:45, to find that many aunties and uncles were already there. I'm the youngest audience.

My colleagues thought I accompany my mom to watch the concert. Mama Peh "accompanied" me to watch the concert instead. She got a package from BM, bus+First World Hotel stay. We met there.

The show started very on-time. She entered the stage singing an English song, "tonite, tonite, ..." Then, she introduced herself, saying, this is the nite for oldies, 经典旧曲, and on the stage, here is the "经典" (pointing to herself). Hah...hah...
Then, she greeted those from Singapore before she even greeted us Msians.
The first time she set foot in M'sia was back in 1972. She mentioned Batu Pahat. Hm... Batu Pahat has engraved a deep impression on her?

Her last song was the 上海滩. Everywhere she went, she couldn't leave the stage without singing her 招牌歌. Later, I passed by a restaurant in First World Plaza, with the name 上海 10. Nice name!

This is a 实力派 concert. The show ended at 9:45 pm. For the 1.45 hour, there's no costume change, no dancers. All songs. Hah...hah... just like 费玉清 concert, Papa Peh would say, the performer earns all the money, without having to spend a single cent on costumes and dancers.

Overnite at the First World Hotel. Next day, after brunch at 10am, I went downhill. Took the shuttle bus to One-Utama and back to school.
