Nyonya Kuih

Pasar=Market; Malam=Nite; Pasar Malam = Nite Market

Went to pasar malam at Subang SS13 last nite. For 2 years I haven't been to a pasar malam. Feel so at home. Bought ayam percik, but before I can take a photo of it, it's already inside my tummy.

Batman

Saw this at the Gardens. Hubby would like this. There's another real-size Indiana Jones, made up of Lego blocks as well.

Shopping, Shopping, Shopping

Lepak a lot these days.

Tuesday, went to Sunway Pyramid. Was so amazed at the technology in which every single parking bay has a detector on top. When the bay is occupied, the indicator bulb will turn red. If it's unoccupied, it'd turn green.

Friday, went to the Gardens. Hah...hah... I don't even know that there's a new shopping mall next to Mid Valley. If not meeting ex-colleague for lunch, I wouldn't have known this.

Well, I have to admit that I have a bad memory. Got to take down the location of my car. Once, many many years ago, while I was still in UM, I couldn't find my car inside Mid Valley carpark.

From the Gardens, I went to join the shopping spree in Mid Valley. MegaSales!

Friday evening, dinner at Briyani House in Subang.

Saturday, dinner at Marche, in the Curve. Super expensive and not that special afterall. The special thing is that we have to line up to eat.

Sunday morning, brunch with brother. It has been a consecutive 3 days for me to eat out. I kind of tak tahan oredi.

"Berlin" Wall

The newly-moved-in neighbour built a "Berlin" wall on his side. I used to lie in my hammock to read newspapers at night, then, see see neighbours houses, see see the cat strolls from one house to another. Now, lying in my hammock, my view is just 一片空白.

Then... ting.... last nite, I got a great idea. I can turn the wall into a projector screen. Buy a projector, connect to laptop, project movies onto the "Berlin" wall. Heh...heh... then, I can have movies under the stars at night!

How hot is the weather in Malaysia?

I've used this clock for years without realising that there's a temperature indicator in Fahrenheit. Well, the only reason is, we, M'sians are oblivious to temperature indicator/forecast. There're only 2 types of season: rain or no rain. A piece of T-shirt + a piece of pants, are enough to survive. If go out, bring along an umbrella. If it isn't raining, use the umbrella as a sunshade; if there's no sun, use the umbrella as a weapon to avoid stray dogs attack!

In Dayton, used to have temperature around the 70s Fahrenheit. When I told my professors that I used to live my life in the temperature around the 90s Fahrenheit, they gave me a big WHAT! look. Well, at 5:29pm, in my living room, the temperature is 92.2 Fahrenheit. And I don't even switch on the fan.

Back to the Future

The date stamped was 26.07.2007. I wasn't around to open this letter, until 2 years later. This letter was sent to me to inform me that I didn't win the lawsuit agains LCCT for causing us to miss flight to Hanoi in Jan 2007.

I have a lot of 感触 staying in USJ 3 again. This is my home. When I reached home, it was as if I've just left it for a day or two. The Straits Times newspapers, dated April 2007, left in the living room, are still in the living room. The newspapers used to wrap garlic and onions, left in the kitchen, are still in the kitchen. The bottle of red wine vinegar, left in the fridge, is still in the fridge. The daun pandan, left in the fridge to keep unpleasant odour away, is still in the fridge. The piyo-piyo mug, a graduation gift from Zeta back in 2002, left on top of the speaker, is still on top of the speaker. The coca-cola bottle from Jakarta, which was supposed to be given to Table, is still on top of the shelf.

I spent 2 days getting rid of 2 drawer-full of letters. I opened the letters one by one, from July 2007, August 2007, ... ... July 2008, August 2008, ... ..., to May 2009, June 2009. Where was I? I'm not around? I need to think hard. Yes, I was in Dayton. But, Dayton seems to have faded to the back of my mind.

This is weird, very weird. Without Dayton, I wouldn't have crossed path with hubby.

Aku Sebuah Basikal

My first master was Brother Kuan. Then, I was passed to Zeta Kuan. From 1999 to 2002, I lived with my master in 5th college, UM. Actually, she stayed upstairs and I stayed downstairs at the dark corner of staircase, with other "friends". I served my master well, except on one sunny day, the handle of my master's school bag got stuck in my front wheel and I was choked. Hence, my master was thrown off the bicycle. She had bruishes all over her arms and legs. I was so apologetic.

Upon graduation, my master moved to Puchong Utama and I was left unattended because she owned a 蓝色开棚跑车. I was so lonely and sad. Not long after, I was sold to Lulu in 2003. I stayed in Desa Kiara Apartment. My new master tied me to the railings at the multi-storey carpark. She seldom stayed around. When she came back from Jordan, she'd take me to Pasar Besar TTDI and the then IBM Plaza. I had a basket in front. She'd load my basket with kangkung, carrots, chicken, fish, prawns, and sometimes, even big and heavy watermelon. One day, my front wheel fell sick. I got my front wheel replaced at RM 40.

In January 2005, I was taken a ride on top of a Ford Frontier to USJ 3/4N. I thought there'd be no more Pasar Besar TTDI. Alas, my master still loaded me with bananas and carrots from a mini market nearby. Then, my back wheel fell sick and was replaced at RM 50. I lived happily in the clean car porch. My soul mate was CLK. Everynite, I slept with CLK side by side.

July 2007, my master left me in the car porch alone. My soul mate, CLK, was brought back to Penang and taken care of by Papa Peh. A month later, I was picked up by a fair guy called Eric. He was my new master. Occasionally, he'd bring me out kai-kai. One day, my basket fell sick and it was detached. Without a basket in front, a black-steel-seat was attached at my backside.

No-know-no-feel, 2 years went by uneventfully. July 2009, I was brought back to USJ 3/4N. But my soul mate, CLK, wasn't there anymore. Instead, there is an SLK. ... ... 往事只能回味 ... ...

Begitulah riwayat aku sebagai sebuah basikal.

Learn to paint

Spent RM 820 on plumbing. Spent another RM 97 to buy a tin of 1-litre white paint, a brush and a 6-steps ladder.

For a ladder, better be safe than sorry. It's better to buy a reliable ladder, biarkan lebih mahal pun tak apa. Otherwise, jatuh lagi susah. So, I buy barangan buatan Malaysia. I've been living in a world where everything is "Made in China" for a long long time. Today, only I realise that Malaysia is still producing ladders. Ah.... "Made in Malaysia"... 好久不见!
