烧鹅臂

Like usual, went to pasar malam to stock up my fridge for the week. Noticed that only left the chinese stalls. It's bulan ramadan (fasting month) for the muslim, so, the malay stalls are no where to be seen. They have their own ramadan stalls somewhere else.

Porridge Steamboat

To bid Table and Mario goodbye, we had a gathering at Subang SS18/5 田园粥火锅.

People said I dah kurus, so, I've to eat more.

I put up this photo at my desk in my new workplace. And people can't recognize that was a photo of me taken 3 months ago. Oh gosh... and people ask for my slimming recipe. I need to declare that I'm not representing Marie France Bodyline or any other slimming companies/products.
Here's how I look now (perhaps, should have a whip in my hand).

I like this outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool very much.

Pasar Malam Tutorial

Last Tue, while having porridge steamboat dinner with piggies, Table was very clever to spill the beans. She read my blog frequently and she pinpointed a very prominent, catching change of style of my blog. Yup, these days, thru my blog I'm "educating" somebody. Hah...hah...

Only M'sians can understand our rojak language, partly English, partly Malay, partly Hokkien, partly Cantonese, partly Mandarin. So, I tried to put the English terms so that Mr Book can understand.

Laksa, RM 3.80. We tried that in New York and Boston.

Karipap. I made this in Dayton but of course, mine was not as good as this.
Oh... just now, only I know its chinese name is 咖喱角.

Jambu batu. English = guava.

Fresh Grocery Shopping

I think I've bought the whole pasar malam home.

1 Papaya = RM 1

Startfruit, RM 2 selonggok.

1 kg of sweet potatoes for RM 4.50
Gone were the days where poor people eat sweet potato.

30 green apples for only RM 10

Langsat, 1 kg for RM 3

Prawns for RM 5

Telur ayam kampung = Egg chicken village (literally)

Taugeh = Bean sprout

Cherry tomato

Jagung = Corn

Pumpkin.
Here, the pumpkin is sweet and therefore eaten.
Thus, not to be carved for Halloween.

The green thing with white layer on top is called Kuih Talam, a type of nyonya kuih.
The 2 brownish thing, I call it Apong, probably it's also called Apam Balik.
The 3 yellowish thing is also a type of Apam Balik.

Char-Bee-Hoon = 炒米粉.

Tue Nite = Pasar Malam Nite

I arranged to have a dip in the swimming pool every Tue evening, then, fresh vege + fruits shopping at Subang SS13 pasar malam every Tue nite.

I think I haven't eaten roadside lok-lok for 20 years. On this nite, after swimming, at 8pm, I went to the pasar malam and 边走边吃. Got remisnicent feeling. The seafood is really fresh. Bought a glass of sugarcane juice, RM 1. Stood at the lok-lok stall and kao-tim my dinner for RM 4.80. Got jellyfish, got cattlefish, got kangkung, got fishballs. 师奶 like me, as long as it's cheap, fresh, big, I'm happy, 多有满足感!

  1. The 3 white balls are the 糯米糍.
  2. The green tube is the kuih dadar.
  3. The 3 brownish tube are the rempah udang.
  4. The dark purple pyramid is the kuih kochi.
  5. The brown semi-circle thing got many names, one of the names is ban-chan-kuih. But, some call it apam balik, to my surprise.

Cempedak. English=Jackfruit. But, it seems like nangka is also called the jackfruit. Aiyoh... how come they cannot call it Tomfruit, Dickfruit, Harryfruit? Must be Jack all the time?

豆浆,豆腐花

A good Sunday morning walk must be rewarded with a healthy breakfast. Or a tempting breakfast must be compensated by a morning walk on a beautiful Sunday?

Ta-pao tao-foo-fa using my tiffin carrier. 环保嘛 !

Since I have leftover of 凉粉,mix it with soya bean milk. This is called the "Michael Jackson".
