20100622 长沙 --〉上海

We flew from Changsha to Shanghai Pudong airport. Upon reaching the airport, we were chauffeured to Zhaoan 兆安 Hotel.

Checked into a suite, wow! The suite consists of 2 storeys in which the lower floor is the reception area with a sofa set, a TV and a toilet (without the bathtub) while the upper floor is the sleeping area and a bathroom. One enters the suite via the lower floor, and goes up to the sleeping area thru a spiral staircase. Well, I found myself a country bumpkin for explaining this suite in such details. I was truly, really, completely overwhelmed being treated like a VIP, given the chance to stay in a suite. Wait... I haven't let the cat out of the closet. Shhhh... don't tell others woh... We didn't pay the suite rate. We were arranged to take up the suite because the standard rooms were fully booked and occupied.

Right next to the hotel is the subway station. 汉中 Station. We took a short ride, just a mere 2 stations away, to 人民广场 station. From there, we walked all the way down 南京步行街 to the bund.

See? Everywhere I went, I bumped into HSBC. Ironically, I didn't bump into one in Hong Kong.

Dunno why, thruout my stay in Shanghai, I kept thinking I was in Hong Kong. When I ordered food in a restaurant, I even spoke Cantonese to the waitress.

Cheap and delicious 翡翠饭. Only RMB 5.
